L'OREAL PARIS CLAIMS
PRICE & AVAILABILITY
MY OPINIONEven though in the beginning I did not have high expectations from a cushion foundation but I saw lots of people loving it. The innovative technology did fascinate me and I decided to get one. In Germany, there are only three shades available, so I chose the middle one which is called 07 Mittel. Internationally, I think there are 7 shades available in UK and 12 in USA. And 07 Mittel is 07 Golden Beige in UK. In the pan, I found the colour way too dark and I was pretty skeptical whether it would suit me or not. Thankfully the colour is almost-perfect for me.
The cushion foundation has a spongy texture. You press it with a brush or sponge and foundation comes out. I have applied with the enclosed sponge and with my Sigma F80 Foundation Brush. Personally, I love the application with the brush. I feel as if the sponge soaks up quite a lot of product. As for the finish and formula, I am pretty impressed. I am that snob who doesn't really see much in drugstore foundations, I never find their finish flawless enough or their shades perfect enough. I have to say I LOVE this L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation. It has a luminous, natural finish that hides all tiny imperfections and yet the skin looks like skin. The coverage is sheer, more like a lightweight BB Cream than a foundation and this is the kind of coverage I dig for.
The foundation doesn't stick to any dry patches rather does an amazing job of smoothing out the skin and imparting a beautiful radiant look. I have a pretty normal skin nowadays which seldom gets oily, so on me the foundation lasted pretty well, 7 plus hours I'd say.
Is it my new favourite foundation? Yes, definitely! I was hooked to the MAC Moisture Finish and YSL Touche Eclat before, and this is way cheaper and as wonderful if sheer coverage is what you are looking for. Because despite what L'Oreal claims I did not find this to be very buildable.
