Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara - Review & Swatch
Experience 1800% more volume and the look of false lashes.
The lash-maximizing, curvy brush places the most volume at the hard-to-reach center lash line, and the defining tip styles lashes for major drama. The ultra-concentrated black pigment delivers the greatest visual impact, and the flash volume complex™ creates instant, smudge-free length and volume in three strokes or less.
Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara gives you the thickest lashes in a blink.

A mascara that gives false lash effect is what my dreams are made of. Anything to perk up my tiny lashes! So you can imagine my excitement when I received a huge box from Marc Jacobs with their Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara inside. I posted a a tiny clip on my Instagram here.
I found the jet black tube as sleek as Marc Jacobs goes. The tube contains an hourglass shaped curvy wand with the defining tip making it very easy to reach every last lash. The formula is perfect, creamy but not wet and the shade blackest of black which itself dramatizes the lashes.
But does it give 1800% more volume? Well, it is pretty difficult for mascaras to work on my stubby lashes. So does it make me skip falsies? No, not really! But it definitely helps to oomph up my lashes. The jet black stands out and thankfully with multiple layering it does not clump much either. First coat is a very natural fanned out lash look. Drama actually begins after the third coat or so! And it is a bonus that the mascara does not smudge or flake throughout the day.
It is definitely pricey, which is what you'd expect from a luxury brand. Would I buy it again? My holy grail close-to-false-lash-effect mascara is the Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes and for me this one does not beat it yet. But if you are already blessed with slightly better looking lashes than mine, Velvet Noir will surely take them to another level.
