TheHotshop Velvet Matte Lipstick in #2 - Review & Swatch

Thehotshop Velvet Matte Lipstick in #2

No, it's not the Topshop! Rather TheHotshop Velvet Matte Lipstick from Born Pretty Store. The adorable, whimsical, minty packaging is very similar to the Topshop's. And I assume these are their knockoffs.

These Velvet Matte Lipsticks come in altogether 10 shades. And I chose #2, which is a pale pink. The brand claims that the lipstick is velvet-y matte, long-lasting and water-proof. Unfortunately, with this particular shade none of the claims proved to be true.

The lipstick has a very patchy application. You really need to be sure you lips are well exfoliated and prepped with a lipbalm if you want to make this lipstick work somehow. It is not velvety, feels flaky and dry. I am hoping that it won't be the case with the darker shades, sometimes pastels are harder to work with. And it also lasted for maximum 2 hours on me.

The shade although is very girly and soft. And the packaging is something you are bound to like.

The lipstick costs $7.63, is currently on sale, and you can get a further 10% discount by using the code SJH10. Buy it here!

I find it so unfortunate that the application is patchy- this colour is really pretty!
