Review & Swatches: E.l.f Luscious Liquid Lipsticks - Maple Sugar & Strawberry

ELF COSMETICS CLAIM
Lip therapy is here! Intensive hydrating agents along with rich pigments leave lips with long-lasting color and moisture. The Luscious Liquid Lipstick creates gorgeous wearable color that flatters a multitude of skin tones and looks.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY
$1.00
I bought it from Elf Pakistan for PKR 170 when their online website was functioning. You can order it now at International Makeup in Pakistan or LushGrooming Bargains. International buyers can order it on eyeslipsface.com.

THE BASICS
I bought the shades Maple Sugar and Strawberry. It is a twist-pen lip gloss with a sponge applicator . The tube contains 1.5g of product.

E.l.f Cosmetics are priced at only $1.00 which in most cases is a plus! Are these too?

MY OPINION
I was tempted to try E.l.F cosmetics for so long and when their store opened online for a li’l time in Pakistan I ordered a few. To be honest, I guess I bought these a year back, and I have not used them much, only 2 or 3 times, I don’t know why.
Strawberry is a sheer pinkish-red which can give the effect of slightly tinted red lips. I was expecting Maple Sugar to be a flattering nude. But it is kind of bleh, nothing appealing, nothing horrid. It sinks into my natural lip shade and appears kind of beige-ish and has silver specks.
You have to twist these E.l.f Luscious Liquid Lipsticks at the bottom for the product to come out. It has a pleasant mint scent. As far as the quality of the lipstick is concerned, they are o-k-a-y. I don’t know why they are called lipsticks, when they are a gloss throughout, in formula and in wearing time and they are sticky in texture (not in a bad way). They are NOT luscious and creamy like liquid lipsticks are. They stay on me for less than 2 hours and are not drying at all on my lips.

RATING
I will of course use these, but won’t be buying again!

  4. I had one in Raspberry...I don't like the sponge applicator and I totally agree its a gloss..I am not sure why they call it a liquid lipstick but I liked it for a $.

    1. Haha I definitely would have whined a lot more if it was more than a dollar.

  5. I hate the smell but I love that they arent too glossy, i got MUA glosses and they are sticky as hell and not so well pigmented. So compared to those I would definitely go for elf.

    1. Thank you Rikki! I have no idea. I guess they had a lot of complaints with their services and delivery. Or maybe $1 products were not too profitable in Pakistan.
